WHAT IS IT
What Is Rage Painting?
Rage painting in Bath means throwing, splashing and layering paint onto canvas in a no-judgement studio, where you let loose on a blank canvas and make as much mess as you like.
It is loud, physical and a lot more fun than standing at an easel trying to get it right. Swing the brush, flick the paint, hurl a colour across the canvas and watch it land. The energy does the work, and the frustration of the week tends to drain away with every splash.
You do not need any artistic experience. Splasherist is built for beginners and for all ages, so there is no wrong way to do it. Whether you are a seasoned creative or have never picked up a paintbrush, the studio is a space to make something bold and messy and walk out smiling.
Why It Feels Good to Throw Paint
Most of us spend our days being careful. We keep our handwriting neat, our opinions measured and our clothes clean. Splasherist is the place where that carefulness gets left at the door. Pick up the brush, or skip the brush altogether, and send paint flying across a canvas. Nobody is grading the result, and the loud, messy marks you make are exactly what the afternoon is for. That release is the reason people walk out of our Bath studio grinning, often with paint on their elbows and no idea how much time has passed.
A standard craft workshop asks you to follow a plan, match a sample and produce something you can be proud of by the end of the hour. That is lovely, but it can also feel like homework. Rage painting turns the pressure down to zero. There is no right way to splash, no tutor hovering over your shoulder and no pretending you know what you are doing. Everyone is a beginner, which quietly levels the room, so the hen party, the birthday crowd and the quiet friend who swore they were no good at art all end up laughing at the same things and making the same kind of noise. Our Bristol and Worcester studios run on exactly the same idea.
Creating without the pressure to be good is where the fun really starts.
You do not need any artistic experience to join in, and the host welcome and safety briefing mean you are never left guessing what to do next. Overalls and shoe covers are supplied, so you can throw with confidence. Visitors often tell us it felt like the best kind of therapy, and that they left lighter than they arrived. If you want to see how a session runs on the day, read our rage painting workshop guide for Bath, or call us on 07300 790025 to ask about a BYOB session.
Your Questions Answered
Never painted before? Good. Here are the practical things first-timers ask us most, so you can book with confidence and spend your time splashing instead of wondering.
How long is the paint time?
Around 50 minutes of paint, which is plenty of time to fill the two canvases included in a standard session.
Can I play my own music?
Yes. Bring your playlist and let it run while you throw, splash and layer paint without worrying about getting dirty.
Do I need to bring anything or wear anything special?
Wear clothes you don't mind getting paint on. Overalls and shoe covers are provided, and bottled water is supplied too.
What about prices, group sizes and dates?
These depend on your session and group, so call 07300 790025 and the team will confirm everything for you. You can also compare our sessions and prices before you call.
